Summer Academy of Early & Traditional Music

In the historic and beautiful Arnaia of the Municipality of Aristotle in Halkidiki, the Summer Academy of Early and Traditional Music is organized from Wednesday, July 20 to Sunday, July 24, 2011.
The Summer Academy provides a rare opportunity for musicians to familiarize themselves with early and traditional music in a beautiful environment, with the help of experienced and specialized instructors.

Individual lessons will take place in the morning hours [10.00-13.00], and in the afternoon [18.00-20.00], the preparation of musical and vocal ensembles will be conducted.

early music cycle

The Early Music Cycle includes individual lessons on period instruments such as the baroque violin and viola, the baroque cello and violone, the baroque guitar, the theorbo, the harpsichord, the flauto traverso, and the entire family of flauti dolci [recorders].

Simultaneously, chamber music ensembles will be formed under the supervision and participation of specialized instructors.
A special thematic unit is the study of singing [solo singing workshop, vocal ensemble, and choir].

Participation does not require knowledge of the repertoire or possession of period instruments, and there is also the possibility of attending as an auditor.
