Aristotle Spiritual Center

The Aristotle Spiritual Center is a Public Legal Entity (P.L.E.) and is the Legal Entity that manages the various grants from the Municipality or other entities for the cultural events of all the Local Communities of the Municipality of Aristotelis, according to the decisions of the Municipal Council.

The organization of functions or activities and the provision of services related to or connected with the responsibilities of the Municipality of Aristotelis, as referred to in the areas of education, culture, sports, tourism, and the environment, as well as the development and implementation of research and technology programs for the region’s development. Additionally, the collaboration and assistance to other bodies that also produce cultural and intellectual work.

Specifically:

Organization of activities and provision of services in the field of culture:

  • Operation of cultural and spiritual center
  • Operation of an art gallery
  • Operation of a theater
  • Operation of a Municipal Conservatory
  • Operation of dance departments, to preserve traditional dance.
  • Operation of choirs, to spread folk and traditional songs and music.
  • Operation of Byzantine music departments.
  • Operation of a Philharmonic.
  • Operation of a theater group
  • Visual arts workshops (painting, jewelry, etc.)
  • Operation and organization of a Folklore Museum
  • Operation of a library
  • Organization of cultural, artistic, and sporting events, such as concerts, theatrical performances, balls, festivals, and music seminars, choir performances, dance ensembles, painting, photography, and book exhibitions, film screenings, lectures of all kinds, etc.
  • Organization of religious feasts and festivals.
  • Cultural development and preservation of the cultural features of the region (architectural, cultural, religious customs and traditions).
  • Protection of archaeological and historical sites of the area and its facilities, which do not belong to the Ministry of Culture
  • Utilization of traditional and historical school buildings and buildings provided by public or private entities.
  • Design, study, and implementation of projects and programs contributing to the cultural and sports development activities.
  • Promotion of cultural exchanges at national, European, and international levels, in accordance with applicable legislation
  • Highlighting and utilizing the historical and cultural heritage of our region from antiquity to the present day
  • Highlighting Mount Athos heritage
  • Establishment of an Aristotelian Conference Center for research in the natural sciences, philosophy, mathematics, political and poetic interests of international scope
  • Program to promote and utilize the Xerxes Canal
  • Mining Park of the Mademochoria
  • Uncovering, Restoring, Promoting, and Showcasing the Sidirokafsia
  • Utilizing and showcasing our architectural heritage
  • Highlighting historical routes
  • Creation, organization, and operation of a department to promote local – cultural tourism
  • Information through printed and other media (magazines, informational leaflets, etc.)
  • Developing information structures and utilizing the possibilities offered by technology for this purpose.
  • Design and implementation of national and European programs, as well as collaboration with other entities for participation in these programs

Organization of activities and provision of services in the field of sports:

  • Promotion and implementation of programs to enhance mass sports and support any efforts for the development and progress of local sports with all available means.
  • Program “Sports for All”.
  • Organization of sports events, competitions, and various contests, as well as lectures, scientific meetings, and other activities related to sports and youth.
  • Utilization of facilities, infrastructure, and generally the movable and immovable property of merged legal entities, as well as other sports facilities already owned by the Municipality of Aristotelis, located either in the Municipality’s headquarters or in its Municipal districts, for the benefit of youth and generally the residents of the broader Municipality of Aristotelis. Also, the utilization of any facility or other property acquired by the current legal entity in the future.
  • Maintenance and improvement of existing facilities.
  • Aiming at the construction of new sports facilities and other exercise and entertainment spaces in the Municipality of Aristotelis.
  • Operation of sports fields (football, tennis, 5×5)
  • Operation of golf courses
  • Operation of a gym
  • Utilization of facilities by granting their use to individuals and legal entities for a fee.
  • Creation of an organized sports center to attract clubs, associations, and national teams (both team and individual sports) for conducting competitions and systematic preparation. The sports center is intended to include, in addition to sports facilities, other building facilities for accommodation, catering, and generally the proper hospitality of athletes.

Organization of activities and provision of services in the field of the environment:

  • Development of local programs for the protection and enhancement of the natural, architectural, and cultural environment, within the framework of national and European policies.
  • Provision of assistance to the competent fire department, with all available means, for fire-fighting, especially in areas with a forest character.
  • Development and implementation of a program for the protection of wild animals
  • Monitoring of the Clean Beaches – Blue Flags program by the Ministry of Environment, Energy, and Climate Change.
  • Protection of the natural environment.
  • Establishment and operation of a municipal workshop for environmental issues
  • Measures for redevelopment and environmental protection
  • Implementation of national and community environmental programs.
  • Rehabilitation of landfill areas (HADA)
  • Organic farming estate
  • Creation and marking of walking trails
  • Highlighting and providing access to areas of natural beauty
  • Highlighting and providing access to scenic viewpoints
  • Natural History Museum
